As usual, Khir Toyo made some rediculous remarks in relation to the appointment of the ''acting GM'' for PKNS. He said, for a high position like this one, the person must be a malay. I'm confused, the Menteri Besar of Selangor is even higher post. But before the current MB, Khalid Ibrahim, Khir Toyo, an Indonesian descendant was the MB, he is a Non-Malay, no matter what he claimed himself to be. So, Ms Low qualification is not a question and Khir Toyo is not in the position to comment on this.
Khir Toyo also said that the appoinment should have been done in consultation with the officers. How does Khir Toyo know that Khalid didn't consult with the officers? It is nothing wrong that after the consultation, Khalid went ahead to appoint Ms Low because he is the true decision maker. Unlike many Umno leaders who has to refer to Mahathir for decision.
I can't imagine, the leader of Khir's mindset and quality to take over the leadership of Malaysia one day. Unfortunately, most of the Pemuda Umno are just like him, racist, lack of foresight and narrow minded.
We can only pray that this don't happen.

Racism In The Appointment Of GM For PKNS

Referring to the appointment of Low Siew Moi as the acting GM of Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor or PKNS, Khir Toyo made some rediculous comments as usual. Including this, he said "such a high post in PKNS must be held by a Malay". He went on to say that Ms Low's appointment undermined the "capabilities of the Malays to run a company like PKNS".
I can understand if these remarks come from the person who is contesting in the party election. But there are other Malay leaders, be it from Pakatan Rakyat or Umno are also responded strongly against the appointment. These peoples are shamelessly playing up a racial card. They don't even bother to cover up their racist mindset by saying that the post is for Malay. I couldn't help but asking myself, where are we, Malaysians heading toward? The Malay can not even accomodate that a government agency being led by a Non-Malay (not even acting).
I don't have to explain how stupid the idea is as everyone knows about it. My concern is that this is a very strong message to the non-malay in the country, no matter how capable you are and no matter how hard working you are, just forget about the top post if you are working in a government agency. The Malays are willing to sacrify the wellbeing of the state by appointing their own race to cling on to the top post in the government agency, regardless of his/her capabilities.
The non malays in this country still can not see the light at the other side of the tunnel.
