Racism In The Appointment Of GM For PKNS

Referring to the appointment of Low Siew Moi as the acting GM of Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor or PKNS, Khir Toyo made some rediculous comments as usual. Including this, he said "such a high post in PKNS must be held by a Malay". He went on to say that Ms Low's appointment undermined the "capabilities of the Malays to run a company like PKNS".

I can understand if these remarks come from the person who is contesting in the party election. But there are other Malay leaders, be it from Pakatan Rakyat or Umno are also responded strongly against the appointment. These peoples are shamelessly playing up a racial card. They don't even bother to cover up their racist mindset by saying that the post is for Malay. I couldn't help but asking myself, where are we, Malaysians heading toward? The Malay can not even accomodate that a government agency being led by a Non-Malay (not even acting).

I don't have to explain how stupid the idea is as everyone knows about it. My concern is that this is a very strong message to the non-malay in the country, no matter how capable you are and no matter how hard working you are, just forget about the top post if you are working in a government agency. The Malays are willing to sacrify the wellbeing of the state by appointing their own race to cling on to the top post in the government agency, regardless of his/her capabilities.

The non malays in this country still can not see the light at the other side of the tunnel.
